The Cantina in Pavones, Costa Rica is literally toes-in-the-sand on
the beach overlooking one of the best surf breaks in the world. Just
beyond the surf is some of the world’s best sportfishing. The village
is surrounded by tropical rainforest. Visit Pavones and enjoy numerous
outdoor activities in an exotic natural setting.
 The Southern Pacific coast is one of the most remote and
underdeveloped areas of Costa Rica. For many years, surfers have
traveled to Pavones to ride the legendary waves. More recently, after
improvements to the road and introduction of electricity, fishermen and
ecoturist are making the trek from Golfito to Pavones.
The accommodations are rustic but offer the opportunity to experience
the
wonders of tropical Costa Rica. There are three upstairs rooms
overlooking the surf (with shared bath). And there are two separate
cabins set back on the property. All rates are $10 per person.
Two restaurants offer excellent food at reasonable price. The Cantina
serves Tex-Mex, burgers, and local food. The Puesta Del Sol is a
superb Italian restaurant run by an Italian chef offering fresh handmade
pastas and fresh fish.
